Bio

Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I have been influenced by nature for as long as I remember. I have always, as an influence of my mother, been interested in art. I believe art speaks for the soul and we can achieve that in many different forms of creation. I started learning in English at the age of nine but I really got to learn by experiencing it, first on Summer 2007  in Vancouver where I spent a month living with a Philippine host family and then as an Exchange Student in Rochester, upstate New York for seven months in 2009, with a host family that was a mix of Puerto Rican and Cuban. Those experiences opened my eyes to the world and from that time on I never stopped exploring and adventuring myself in this beautiful world full of amazing interesting people.

At the age of 16 I decided to pursue a career in Fashion, after a while researching and experimenting different things I finally realized that I love patternmaking, the constructive part of the fashion design is what motivated me to get a Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design and specialize in Pattermaking at Senac University Center (the only university in Brazil that offers this specialization). I finished it in 2013 with a incredible thesis on costume from 1901-9012, called The differences between the social classes on a steamship in the beginning of the 20th century. After this project I decided I wanted to pursue a career in Costume Design because it is fantastic how we can travel on time and in between cultures and re-make epic clothes that were worn centuries ago or imagine how we will dress up years from now. Also, all the researches and studies upon the period and characters being represented on stage or screen fascinates me.

I am currently settled in Seattle and seeking for new experiences on the costume design field.

 

Nascida e criada em São Paulo, Brasil, fui influenciada pela natureza desde muito pequena. Eu sempre tive, graças a influências de minha Mãe, um enorme interesse pela arte. Eu acredito que a arte fala pela alma e podemos representa-la usando diferentes formas de criação. Eu comecei aprender o inglês aos 9 anos de idade, mas eu realmente aprendi quando vivenciei o uso da lingua, primeiro em Julho de 2007 em Vancouver, Canadá, aonde  morei com uma família philipina por um mês e depois, como intercambista em Rochester, NY  por sete meses em 2009. Em Rochester morei com uma família de onde haviam Porto Riquenhos e Cubanos. Essas experiências abriram meus olhos para o mundo e desde então, nunca mais parei de explorar e me aventurar nesse maravilhoso mundo repleto de pessoas e lugares interessantes.

Com 16 anos de idade decidi que queria seguir minha carreira no mundo da moda moda. Depois de passar periodo pesquisando e experimentando finalmente percebi que minha paixão esta na Modelagem, a  parte construtiva do Design de moda. Foi o que me motivou a conseguir um diploma de Bacharel em Design de Moda – Habilitação Modelagem, finalizado em 2013 com um incrível projeto de desenvolvimento e monografia com figurinos de 1901 a 1912 chamado “A diferença entre como classes sociais em um navio cruzeiro no início do Século XX”. Depois de concluir esse projeto eu decidi buscar uma carreira na área de figurino, porque para mim é fantástico como podemos viajar no tempo, entre culturas e reproduzir roupas épicas que foram usadas séculos atrás ou imaginar como serão as roupas no futuro.

Atualmente estou morando em Seattle, WA e estou agregando novas experiencias pessoais e profissionais.
